Valentine’s day cliche

February – cold, wet and usually miserable time of the year. Did you know that in February we have “Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day” (first Saturday of the month) – not a brilliant idea if it’s -10C outside, “Kite Flying Day” (8th of February) – excuse me! Are all the Summer days already booked up?! And the best one – “Don’t Cry over Spilled Milk Day” (11th of February) – is in recognition of everyone who spills a little bit of milk every now and then 🙂 It’s a day to  be optimistic, think positive, look on the bright side, and to find something good in everything that happens. I do like this day! From now one I’m going to celebrate it!

And then there is 14th of February – St. Valentine’s Day – you love it or hate it! But why not – why not to make it the LOVE day – let’s celebrate love! It’s so amazing to see an older gent coming to our shop and asking for a bunch of flowers for his beloved wife – she probably doesn’t even remember that it’s Valentines Day – but what a surprise when she opens the door and will see her husband for 45 years standing with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and big red heart balloon – isn’t it sweet…

So why be anti-Valentines day? I do understand that the cost of flowers increase on this day and you get frustrated at having to pay more than usual. Unfortunately because of high demand, flower growers put their prices up – so it affects us – the florists. But we will still do everything possible to make them beautiful and affordable! And why not support your local florist at least once a year.

So please spread the Love and be Happy!!!!

Secret forest at The Brewery

Last October we arranged wedding flowers for a beautiful couple – Gina and Chris. They chose The Brewery as their wedding venue – a stunning place with history in every corner. Brick walls, beams and high timber ceilings make this venue such a unique place in the heart of London. As the ceilings are so high in The Brewery we created tall table arrangements with twisted twigs and pussy willow to make an impact in such a big space. Gina wanted to create a romantic woodland feel so we added hanging t-lights to the table centerpieces. I love to use seasonal flowers in an arrangements and I was so pleased that Gina chose an orange and cream colour scheme – perfect for an Autumn wedding.

Gina and Chris had a real dream teem to organise their big day – The Perrys Wedding Company – The Wedding Lounge – Photography by Adam We created a short video to give you a better idea how everything was set up on a day.

French Style Wedding

Summer is over and our wedding season is coming to a close. It has been an amazing year, and we had the pleasure to meet plenty of lovely couples. One of them was Gaby and Mark. Their big day was held at the stunning venue The Longstowe Hall – 10 miles from Cambridge.

Gaby had lots of great deco ideas. For example – she collected lots of bottles and sprayed them in white. We arranged them in groups around the drinks reception with cream, pink and burgundy flowers. I love a bit of Wedding DIY!

Thank you so much to Lizzie and Rhoddy from Elizabeth Lois Photography for shearing their beautiful wedding pics with us.

It’s all about the details

Just by glancing at these stunning pictures of Jolita’s and Andy’s wedding at Hanbury Manor Marriott Hotel you get a real sense of this year’s trends: cream & blush colour, lace & pearls, and most importantly – attention to detail! A small silver heart attached to a bridal bouquet with pictures of people you wish were there; buttonholes wrapped in satin ribbon to match the bridal flowers; top table arrangements surrounded with perfume bottles, t-lights and pearls. Small details are what make your arrangements unique.

Special thank you to: Perrys The Wedding Company for arranging such a beautiful day; The Wedding Lounge – adding a special deco touch; and Photography by Adam for capturing every detail.

Sunflower Sunshine

Back in May we did wedding flowers for a lovely couple Ellie and Rich.

Ellie loves sunflowers! She wanted to have them everywhere – buttonhole, bouquets and table arrangements. It looked perfect with blue bridesmaids dresses. For Ellie we made posy bouquet with petite white flowers like ranunculus, sweet peas, spray roses and scented freesia. Groomsmen wore sunflower buttonholes and Rich matched the bride’s bouquet – freesia and spray rose buttonhole.

After puzzling out how to pin the buttonholes, the boys headed to St Paul’s Cathedral – the most stunning place to exchange your vows.

At the venue – The Stationers’ Hall – we made yellow and purple flower circles with hurricane candle holders inside. The perfect centrepieces if you are looking for a low arrangement.

Big Thank You to Lina and Tom Photography for letting us share their beautiful work.

“It has been a real pleasure working with you and thank you for your patience in explaining some quite basic points to this couple of wedding-novices!  You really took the time to listen to what we want and helped us to hone our thinking, which meant we got the perfect flowers for us.  The arrangements were gorgeous – the sunflowers in particular were stunning and I loved that you were able to incorporate this relatively informal flower into the gorgeous pedestals in arrangements worthy of quite a grand venue!  I wish you’d been there to hear the gasps when we handed out the flowers to the mothers – the whole room was impressed!  Please pass our thanks on to the rest of your team as well.  We met a few florists in the run up to the wedding, but you were the one we “clicked” with and I’m so glad that we went with you.  We will definitely be recommending you to others and of course using the shop whenever we need flowers for other occasions too!”

Dream Wedding at The Grand Connaught Rooms

Happy 1st Anniversary Natasha and Antony!

Last year 6th of July we arranged flowers for a lovely couple Antony and Natasha. They got married in a stunning venue – The Grand Connaught Rooms. As it’s a big and impressive venue we made tall flower compositions with summer flowers like peonies, hydrangeas and roses.

It was such a pleasure to work with Perry’s The Wedding Company  and Everything’s Covered – everyone did their best to create a special and unforgettable day for this beautiful couple.

Romantic Wedding

Looking at Victoria and Mike’s wedding pictures you can see how important every detail is in creating a perfect day. Table cloths (from Gilded Linens), glasses, candle holders and many more accessories added such a special touch.
The ladies from “Your London Florist” wedding team traveled to Cardiff and spent three days arranging fairy tale flowers. Candelabras, framed flower table plan, top table flower waterfalls, bridal bouquets and more – everything was created for this special day.

Thank you Peter from PeterLane Photography for beautiful pictures and Luxury Wedding planner Sophie from SJK Weddings for bringing all of us together
